CONTACT ME ABOUT I AM LEGION
Introduction:
This serial-killer based thriller aims to tackle relevant social elements such as the treatment of LGBTQI people, as well as the role that religious discrimination plays in the demonization of social minorities. The goal is to present realistic police procedural elements combined with the exploration of flawed interpersonal relationships and breakdowns in communication all while engaging in the thrilling and desperate task of stopping a serial killer. Think SE7EN with an LGBTQI twist.

Logline:
A dogged detective engages in a cat-and-mouse pursuit of a fanatical serial killer who is gruesomely murdering members of the LGBTQI community, while simultaneously navigating her own messy private life.

Setting:
Two versions of the script have been written, one set in Sydney, Australia and one set in Detroit, USA.

Synopsis:
Detective CONSTANCE "CONNIE" BROOKS is a veteran homicide investigator, but even she is shocked when the mutilated body of a lesbian woman is discovered with a sign that says "I AM LEGION" hanging around the neck. Assigned a new partner, FIRAS HANNA, a muslim man, Connie and the investigative team must quickly come to terms with the fact they are chasing a serial killer when a second body with the exact same MO appears. Meanwhile, Connie's relationship with her partner KATHERINE (KAT) is falling apart, largely due to Connie's inability to emotionally engage, her dedication to her work, and her inability to control her anger.
Connie and Firas quickly discover a pattern to the killings - the body of each victim is being painted in one of the colours of the PRIDE FLAG, and each of them correspond to a letter of the LGBTQI acronym - a lesbian, followed by a gay man, then a bisexual man, a transgender woman and so on. Based off the killer's use of the term "I am Legion" Firas determines the killer is a highly religious person who sees himself carrying out the work of god.
As they close in on the killer's identity and location, a thrilling game of cat and mouse ensues and when the killer takes a personal interest in Connie, her life and those of the people she is close with are put on the line.
